QUEBEC CITY, Nov. 3 (UPI) -- Lindsay Davenport, going for her second title of 2007, beat No. 2 seed Vera Zvonareva Saturday to make the final of the Bell Challenge at Quebec City, Quebec.
Davenport was playing in her third consecutive quarterfinal since returning to the WTA Tour in August after nearly a year out of action. She won the Commonwealth Bank Tennis Classic in Bali, Indonesia, in September.
In Quebec City Saturday, she lost her first and only set of the Bell challenge, defeating Russian Zvonareva, 6-2, 6-7 (3-7), 6-3.
Davenport -- who gave birth to her first child, Jagger Jonathan Leach, in June -- meets third-seeded Ukrainian Julia Vakulenko in the Sunday's final.
Vakulenko overcame an injured right ankle Saturday to defeat American Julie Ditty, 6-1, 4-6, 7-5. Ditty, 28, was making the first semifinal appearance of her WTA Tour career.
