SAN ANTONIO, Nov. 2 (UPI) -- Tim Duncan celebrated his contract extension with 15 points and 10 rebounds Friday, sending San Antonio to a 96-80 victory over Sacramento.
San Antonio downed the Kings for the fifth straight time.
Earlier in the day, Duncan signed a two-year extension worth a reported $40 million. He then went out and helped the Spurs dominate in the first half and take a 27-point lead at intermission.
Tony Parker had 15 points and Ime Udoka had 14 as the Spurs remained unbeaten in their first three games. They last opened the season at 3-0 seven years ago, when they finished with the best record in the NBA.
Kelvin Martin led Sacramento with 22 points. The Kings made only four shots from the field in the second period and went without one for almost four minutes.
