CHARLOTTE, N.C., Oct. 28 (UPI) -- Peyton Manning surpassed Johnny Unitas as the franchise touchdown leader as the Indianapolis Colts defeated the Carolina Panthers, 31-7, Sunday.
Manning completed 14-of-30 passes for 254 yards and two touchdowns for Indianapolis (7-0).
Manning's second touchdown also marked the 288th of his career, putting him past Unitas as the franchise's career leader.
Joseph Addai rushed 23 times for 100 yards and two touchdowns for Indianapolis while Reggie Wayne had seven catches for 168 yards and a touchdown, helping the Colts join the 1929-1931 Green Bay Packers as the only teams to ever start three straight seasons 7-0.
For the Panthers (4-3), DeShaun Foster gained 62 yards on 19 carries, while starter Vinny Testaverde left the game with an apparent ankle injury, finishing 12-of-20 for 82 yards and an interception.
Backup QB David Carr completed 8-of-14 passes for 54 yards.
