COL FB: Tennessee 27, South Carolina 24

KNOXVILLE, Tenn., Oct. 28 (UPI) -- Daniel Lincoln's 48-yard field goal set up overtime Saturday night and his 27-yarder in OT gave Tennessee a 27-24 win over No. 17 South Carolina.

The Vols trailed, 24-21, when LaMarcus Coker returned a kick 37 yards to midfield with 1:11 remaining. Erik Ainge -- who went 26-for-44 passing for 216 yards and a touchdown -- got his team close enough for Lincoln to tie the game.

Lincoln missed with his first attempt from 43 yards, but false start penalty gave him a second chance -- and he connected from 48 yards with five seconds left to play.

Arian Foster gained 75 yard on 19 carries for Tennessee (5-3, 3-2 SEC), which won for the fourth time in its last five games.

The Gamecocks (6-3, 3-3) scored 24 unanswered second-half points before allowing the game-tying field goal.

Blake Mitchell, playing in place of starting quarterback Chris Smelley, connected on 31-of-45 passes for 290 yards, with one touchdown and one interception.

Cory Boyd picked up 160 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries, and Kenny McKinley had 154 yards and a touchdown on a school-record 14 catches.
