COL FB: N.C. State 29, Virginia 24

RALEIGH, N.C., Oct. 27 (UPI) -- Daniel Evans passed for 347 yards and three touchdowns Saturday afternoon, as North Carolina State upset the 18th-ranked Virginia Cavaliers, 29-24.

Evans completed 26-of-46 and Donald Bowens had 11 receptions for 202 yards and two touchdowns, as the Wolfpack (3-5, 1-3 ACC) ended a nine-game conference losing streak that dated back to the middle of last season.

Jamelle Eugene ran for 112 yards on 21 carries and Steven Hauschka was 3-for-3 on field goal attempts for N.C. State.

Jameel Sewell passed for 260 yards with two TDs and two interceptions for the Cavaliers (7-2, 4-1) before leaving the game with a right-leg injury late in the fourth quarter.

Red-shirt sophomore tailback Mikell Simpson ran for 81 yards and scored two touchdowns, but Virginia had the second-longest active winning streak in the nation stopped at seven games.
