COL FB: Miss. State 31, Kentucky 14

LEXINGTON, Ky., Oct. 27 (UPI) -- Anthony Dixon ran for one touchdown and caught another Saturday afternoon as Mississippi State upset No. 15 Kentucky, 31-14.

The underdog Bulldogs built a 14-7 halftime lead, and never trailed, although the scored was tied, 7-7, after the first quarter.

Dixon rushed for 75 yards on 25 attempts.

Fellow running back Christian Ducree scored once on 19 attempts for 119 yards, and Wesley Carroll threw for two touchdowns after completing 17 of 28 passes for 152 yards for the Bulldogs (5-4, 2-3 SEC), who stopped a two-game skid.

Kentucky quarterback Andre Woodson completed 24 of 42 passes for 230 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions.

Wide receiver Steve Johnson caught both touchdown passes on just three catches for 69 yards, while running back Derrick Locke was limited to 46 yards on 11 carries as the Wildcats (6-3, 2-3 SEC West) likely lost a chance to win their division.
