Jacksonville signs quarterback Bouman

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Oct. 25 (UPI) -- Quarterback Todd Bouman has been signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars to serve as a backup for Quinn Gray.

Gray is to make is first NFL start on Sunday against Tampa Bay. He replaced David Garrard in Monday night's game after Garrard suffered an ankle injury. Garrard is expected to be out for about a month.

Bouman, 35, played parts of four seasons for Minnesota and New Orleans. His best game was in 2001 when he completed 21-of-31 passes for 348 yards and four touchdowns in leading the Vikings to a win over Tennessee.
