Hantuchova, Bartoli advance in Austria

LINZ, Austria, Oct. 25 (UPI) -- No. 2 seed Daniela Hantuchova and Wimbledon runner-up Marion Bartoli reached the quarterfinals Thursday at the Generali Ladies Linz in Austria.

Hantuchova was a 6-3, 6-1, winner over Gisela Dulko. Bartoli, the third seed, eliminated Tamira Paszek, 6-2, 6-1.

Fifth-seeded Nicole Vaidisova had an easy time in defeating Yvonne Meusburger, 6-3, 6-1; and No. 6 Patty Schnyder, a finalist in this event two years ago, recorded a 6-4, 6-4, win over Alicia Molik.

Schnyder will meet top-seeded Anna Chakvetadze in the quarterfinals, while Hantuchova will play Alona Bondarenko -- a 6-4, 6-3, winner over Eleni Daniilidou.
