Fifth-seeded Nicole Vaidisova had an easy time in defeating Yvonne Meusburger, 6-3, 6-1; and No. 6 Patty Schnyder, a finalist in this event two years ago, recorded a 6-4, 6-4, win over Alicia Molik.
