NFL: New Orleans 22, Atlanta 16

NEW ORLEANS, Oct. 21 (UPI) -- New Orleans quarterback Drew Brees tossed a pair of touchdowns Sunday as the Saints overtook the Atlanta Falcons 22-16.

Brees connected on 22 of 34 passes for 219 yards as the Saints won for the second straight time after losing their first four games this season.

The game also marked Byron Leftwich's debut as the Falcons' starting quarterback in place of Joey Harrington, who took over after Michael Vick was suspended indefinitely for his involvement in dogfighting enterprises.

Leftwich completed 15 of 23 for 145 yards and a touchdown before being injured in the third quarter and replaced by Harrington, who finished 12-of-18 for 128 yards.
