DENVER, Oct. 21 (UPI) -- Jason Elam kicked a 48-yard field goal with two seconds left in regulation Sunday night, as the Denver Broncos beat Pittsburgh, 31-28.
Elam's game winner for Denver (3-3) capped a seven-play, 49-yard drive that came after the Steelers (4-2) had tied the game with 1:10 remaining, on a 12-yard pass from Ben Roethlisberger to Heath Miller -- coming after a 12-play, 78-yard Pittsburgh drive.
It was the second of two straight fourth-quarter touchdowns for the Steelers.
Broncos quarterback Jay Cutler was 22-of-29 passing for 254 yards, with three touchdowns and two interceptions. He connected with Brandon Stokley, Tony Scheffler and Cecil Sapp for TDs, and also picked up 42 yards rushing on three carries.
Roethlisberger went 24-for-35 passing for 287 yards, with four touchdowns and two interceptions. He also gained 40 yards on five rushes.
Miller had five catches for 61 yards and two TDs, while Santonio Holmes caught six passes for 50 yards and a score.
