CALGARY, Alberta, Oct. 19 (UPI) -- A pair of second-period goals by Daymond Langkow helped the Calgary Flames overcome a two-goal deficit Thursday night en route to a 4-3 win over Los Angeles.
The Flames opened a season-long, seven-game home stand by winning on their own ice for the first time this season. They had the NHL's best home record last season at 30-9-2.
After Michael Cammalleri and Dustin Brown gave the Kings a 2-0 lead in the game's opening 10 minutes, Kristian Huselius began the Calgary comeback, scoring on the power play with just seven seconds left in the first period.
Langkow assisted on that goal and then tied the game at 6:11 of the second by putting a wrister past Jean-Sebastien Aubin.
Craig Conroy put the Flames ahead at 11:33 of the second, and Langkow added a power-play goal with 3:58 remaining in the period. It was Langkow's sixth goal of the season and caused Aubin to be replaced by Jason LaBarbera.
Anze Kopitar, who assisted on both the Kings' goals in the first period, scored a power-play goal with 8:20 left in the third.
Los Angeles lost for the sixth time in seven games.
