
COLUMBUS, Ohio, Oct. 13 (UPI) -- Brian Hartline caught a 14-yard touchdown pass and raced 90 yards on a punt return for another score Saturday as third-ranked Ohio State ripped Kent State 48-3.
Harline’s TD catch, which came on OSU’s first possession, and his punt return, early in the second period, accounted for the Buckeyes’ first points. The wideout finished with three catches for 47 yards.
Quarterback Todd Boeckman also threw for another score on 13-of-16 passing for 184 yards for Ohio State (7-0).
Kent State (3-4) avoided the shutout when Nate Reed kicked a 34-yard field with 2:36 to play.
Rob Schoenhoft threw for 79 yards in the second half, completing 7 of 9 passes. Eugene Jarvis led the Golden Flashes with 84 yards rushing on 16 carries.
