SOUTH BEND, Ind., Oct. 13 (UPI) -- Matt Ryan completed 32-of-49 passes for 291 yards and two TDs Saturday afternoon, as unbeaten, fourth-ranked Boston College beat Notre Dame, 27-14.

The Eagles (7-0) used Andre Callender (90 yards) and L.V. Whitworth (68 yards) to rush for 168 yards. Callender also caught 10 passes for 91 yards and a touchdown.

BC overcame 15 penalties by controlling the ball for nearly 40 minutes.

The Notre Dame offense sputtered under the direction of quarterback Jimmy Clausen, who was just 7-for-20 passing for 60 yards and two interceptions. Backup Evan Sharpley was just 11-of-29 passing for 135 yards with one touchdown.

Notre Dame (1-6) didn't have a running game as James Aldridge carried five times for a team-high 17 yards.
