BANGKOK, Oct. 11 (UPI) -- Venus Williams recorded a pair of victories Thursday and advanced of the quarterfinals of the $200,000 Bangkok Open tennis tournament.

Williams, seeded second, finished off a first-round match that had been suspended because of rain, eliminating Carolina Wozniacki 6-2, 6-2. She then turned to local favorite Tamarine Tanasugarn and got by her 6-4, 6-1.

Williams heads into Friday's quarterfinals having won 11 of her last 12 matches, including a tournament title in Seoul and a second-place finish last week in Tokyo. She is to face Camille Pin in the next round.

Fourth-seeded Virginie Razzano, who had won tournaments each of the last two weeks, saw her match winning streak snapped at 11 when wild-card entrant Urszula Radwanska recorded a 7-6 (7-3), 7-5 victory over her Thursday.

No. 3-seeded Shahar Peer blitzed Anastassia Rodionova 6-1, 6-1 and earned a quarterfinals slot against seventh-seeded Flavia Pennetta.

Also Thursday, Zi Yan beat Olga Poutchkova 3-6, 6-1, 6-1 and Yung-Jan Chan defeated Aleksandra Wozniak 4-6, 6-3, 6-2. Rain caused the suspension of a second-round match between fifth-seeded Dominika Cibulkova and defending Bangkok champion Vania King with Cibulkova ahead 6-6 (9-8).

The Cibulkova-King winner is to meet Yan in a quarterfinal and Radwanska drew Chan in the fourth match Friday.
