STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Oct. 11 (UPI) -- James Blake moved closer to what would be his third tournament triumph of the year Thursday, reaching the quarterfinals of the Stockholm Open.

Blake, the event's No. 1 seed, cruised past Frank Dancevic, 6-3, 6-2. Blake won in Sydney in January and captured the Pilot Pen tournament in August.

Sixth-seeded Jarkko Nieminen sailed into the quarters with a 6-0, 6-4, decision over Peter Luczak, and No. 7 Ivo Karlovic advanced when Joachim Johansson was forced to withdraw with an injury.

Other winners Thursday included Mario Ancic, Andre Clement and Thomas Johansson.
