ST. LOUIS, Oct. 8 (UPI) -- St. Louis Rams safety Jerome Carter broke a bone in his right foot Sunday and is expected to miss the remainder of the season.

Rams Coach Scott Linehan said Carter will require "about an 8- to-10-week recovery."

Linehan added that quarterback Marc Bulger appears ready to return from a rib injury. Gus Frerotte, making his first start since the end of 2005 in place of the injured Bulger, went 24-of-43 for 262 yards against the Arizona Cardinals. He threw three touchdown passes, but also three interceptions.
