Arbitrators rule against Orioles pitcher Bergesen

OTTAWA, Oct. 6 (UPI) -- Martin Gerber stopped all 35 shots he faced Saturday night as the Ottawa Senators beat the New York Rangers, 2-0.
Ottawa defenseman Andrej Meszaros scored short-handed at 4:47 of the first period, while right wing Daniel Alfredsson had a goal and an assist, scoring for the third game in a row.
Gerber recorded his first shutout since Feb. 14 of last season as Senators improved to a 3-0 start for the second time in three years.
Rangers' goaltender Henrik Lundqvist was beaten twice on 33 shots.
He sank to 2-6-0 in eight career games against the Senators.
On the power play, neither team scored on nine overall chances.
