Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

SYRACUSE, N.Y., Oct. 6 (UPI) -- Pat White passed for one touchdown and ran for another Saturday before leaving with an injury as 12th-ranked West Virginia beat Syracuse 55-14.
Owen Schmitt scored twice for the Mountaineers (5-1, 1-1 Big East), who beat Syracuse for a sixth straight time. Keilen Dykes returned an interception for a West Virginia TD.
White hurt his ribs on a 27-yard run midway through the third quarter. Before leaving this game, White completed 12 of 15 passes for 148 yards and a touchdown. He also ran for 89 yards.
Andrew Robinson completed 5 of 15 passes for 100 yards with a TD for Syracuse (1-5, 1-1), whose defense gave up 486 yards.
