NASHVILLE, Oct. 5 (UPI) -- Chris Mason stopped all 35 Colorado shots Thursday night as Nashville beat the Avalanche, 4-0.
Nashville's Jason Arnott scored twice in the first period as the Predators opened their 10th NHL season at the newly named Sommet Center, and in the midst of on-going relocation rumors.
Nashville also got goals by Dan Hamhuis and J.P. Dumont, while Arnott and Dumont had one assist each.
Avalanche goalies Peter Budaj and Tyler Weiman combined to allow four goals on 32 Nashville shots.
On the power play, the Predators scored once on five chances, and Colorado went 0-for-3.
Reports say David Freeman, head of 36 Venture Capital, is looking to vacate Nashville if his team does not get a new arena.
