CHICAGO, Oct. 3 (UPI) -- Chicago Bears linebacker Lance Briggs is being sued for child support by the mother of his 3-week-old daughter.
The Chicago Sun-Times reported 21-year-old Brittini Tribbett is trying to make sure the infant's future is secure.
The couple is not married.
In her lawsuit filed Tuesday in Tuesday in Cook County (Ill.) Circuit Court, Tribbett said she wants to ensure" Briggs pays "appropriate" child support, all medical bills and to establish a college savings fund for their daughter.
"We've got to formalize the obligation of support and right of visitation," her attorney, Enrico Mirabelli, told the newspaper.
"Lance has been exemplary both as a parent and as a provider thus far. There's no animosity here, but legal necessities are not always niceties."
Tribbett asked a judge to help establish a visitation schedule and to ensure Briggs pays "appropriate" child support, all medical bills and to establish a college savings fund for their daughter.
