
INDIANAPOLIS, Sept. 30 (UPI) -- Peyton Manning threw three touchdown passes and ran for a TD Sunday to lead the unbeaten Indianapolis Colts past Denver 38-20.
Manning was 20-of-27 for 193 yards passing for the Colts (4-0), while Joseph Addai ran for 136 yards and a TD and Dallas Clark caught two TD passes.
Jay Cutler completed 13-of-21 passes for 131 yards, as Denver (2-2) lost its second consecutive game.
Cutler threw seven yards down the middle to Brandon Marshall to stake the Broncos to a 10-0 lead after one quarter. The Colts came back in the second quarter with Addai’s 14-yard touchdown run and Manning’s 9-yard TD toss to Clark, wrapped around a 22-yard field goal by Denver veteran Jason Elam -- his second field goal of the game.
Indianapolis extended its lead in the third quarter to 28-13, as Manning ran for a 1-yard touchdown and hit Clark again for a 3-yard touchdown.
After Cutler ran two yards for a score to make it 28-20 after three quarters, the Colts closed out the scoring with a 5-yard TD run by Reggie Wayne and a 22-yard Adam Vinatieri field goal.
