WASHINGTON, Sept. 30 (UPI) -- Marc Burch, Fred, Jaime Moreno and Luciano Emilio scored goals Saturday night, as D.C. United beat Toronto FC, 4-1, in an MLS contest in Washington.
Toronto got on the board first when Carl Robinson beat D.C. goalie Troy Perkins with a free kick in the 14th minute.
D.C. United scored four times in the second half -- running the expansion Toronto franchise’s winless streak to 12 games.
Emilio capped the scoring for D.C. United with his league-leading 20th goal of the season -- putting him within three of tying Raul Diaz Arce's team record of 23.
The victory kept D.C. four points ahead of New England -- a 1-0 winner over Colorado -- in the Eastern Conference standings.
