Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

TORONTO, Sept. 29 (UPI) -- Adam Lind hit a three-run homer in the bottom of the eighth Saturday as Toronto defeated Tampa Bay 5-3.
With the score tied 1-1, Toronto took advantage of two Tampa Bay errors to score four times.
Toronto’s John-Ford Griffin hit his second-career homer in the fourth. Aaron Hill had one RBI and Curtis Thigpen had the other hit for the Blue Jays, who have won four of five.
The winner was reliever Scott Downs (4-2).
Tampa Bay’s Akinori Iwamura had two hits and two RBI. Justin Ruggiano drove in the third run, and Dioner Navarro also had two hits for the Devil Rays, who have dropped four in a row. Ruggiano knocked in the first run of his career.
The losing pitcher was Dan Wheeler (0-5).
