COL FB: Boston College 24, Mass. 14

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass., Sept. 29 (UPI) -- Andre Callender ran for two TDs Saturday, leading No. 11 Boston College to a 24-14 win over Massachusetts -- and the Eagles' first 5-0 start in 53 years.

Callender carried the ball 32 times for 115 yards and caught four passes for 20 yards.

Matt Ryan completed 24-of-42 for 204 yards and a TD for Boston College. Rich Gunnell caught six passes, as the Eagles won for the 18th time in 23 games against Massachusetts.

Liam Coen went 12-for-21 for 151 yards and two touchdowns for the Minutemen.

Rasheed Rancher had four catches for 84 yards and a score Massachusetts (4-1), which was looking to open a season with five straight wins for the first time since 1975.
