MLB: Atlanta 10, Philadelphia 6

PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 25 (UPI) -- Mark Teixeira and Chipper Jones homered Tuesday as the Atlanta Braves posted a 10-6 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies.

The Phillies fell a half-game behind San Diego, which played later Tuesday in the NL wild card race.

Edgar Renteria went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored for the Braves, who have won three straight and eight of their last nine games.

Braves starter Chuck James gave up three hits and four runs in 3 2/3 innings. Jeff Bennett (2-0) got the win by holding the Phillies to one run on two hits in 1 1/3 innings of relief.

Jamie Moyer (13-12) allowed six runs on six hits in 5 1/3 innings. Reliever Geoff Geary gave up two runs on three hits in two-thirds of an inning.

Ryan Howard, Jayson Werth, Jimmy Rollins and Chase Utley all homered in for Philadelphia.
