NFL: Kansas City 13, Minnesota 10

KANSAS CITY, Mo., Sept. 23 (UPI) -- Dwayne Bowe caught a 16-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter to lift the Kansas City Chiefs over the Minnesota Vikings, 13-10, Sunday.

Kansas City (1-2) rallied from a 10-0 deficit late in the first half on a pair of field goals by Dave Rayner before the winning 12-play drive.

Damon Huard completed 20-of-29 passes for 206 yards and the touchdown with just over nine minutes to play in the Chiefs’ home opener. Huard is 7-0 in home openers as a Chief.

Bowe had five catches for 71 yards on the day while Tony Gonzalez had seven receptions for 96 yards. Larry Johnson was limited to 42 rushing yards on 24 carries

Minnesota (1-2) staked out a 10-0 lead early on rookie Adrian Peterson’s 11-yard TD run in the first quarter. Ryan Longwell hit a 22-yard field goal with 9:18 to play in the second quarter.

. Kelly Holcomb, starting in place of injured Tavarias Jackson, was 14-of-28 for 165 yards in his first start for Minnesota.
