MLB: Baltimore 11, Texas 9

ARLINGTON, Texas, Sept. 23 (UPI) -- Nick Markakis drove in a career-high five runs Saturday night as the Baltimore Orioles topped Texas, 11-9.

Markakis' two-run double helped Baltimore build a four-run eighth to overcome an 8-5 deficit. Markakis also hit a two-run homer in the first and an RBI single in the seventh.

Brian Roberts, Freddie Bynum and Aubrey Huff all had two RBI. Roberts had three hits, while three players had two each for the Orioles -- who have won two of their last three games.

The winner was Jim Hoey (2-4).

Jamie Walker earned his sixth save this season.

Texas' Ian Kinsler hit a three-run homer in the second and scored three times. Hank Blalock hit a solo homer and a sacrifice fly.

Four players had one RBI each and three had two hits for the Rangers, who have dropped four of five.

The losing pitcher was Wes Littleton (3-2).
