TORONTO, Sept. 22 (UPI) -- Jacob Thomas scored the game-winning goal in the 83rd minute Saturday as Columbus beat Toronto FC, 2-1, in an MLS contest at Toronto.

Toronto (5-14-6) had not scored a goal since July 7, in a 1-1 draw at Chicago, when defenseman Miguel Canizalez scored in the game's second minute Saturday to end an expansion club-record 822 minute-scoreless streak.

Jason Garey scored in the 60th minute to set the stage for Thomas' game-winner, and give the Crew (7-9-10) their first victory since a 2-0 win against Toronto July 22.

Toronto is winless in its last 11 games, while Columbus broke its seven-game winless streak.
