MLB: Florida 8, N.Y. Mets 7 (10 inn.)

MIAMI, Sept. 21 (UPI) -- Florida tied it with a three-run ninth and Dan Uggla doubled home the game-winner in the 10th Thursday night, as the Marlins beat the New York Mets, 8-7.

It was the Mets' sixth loss in seven games, and their lead in the National League East was reduced to 1 1/2 games over Philadelphia.

New York scored four times in the top of the ninth to take a 7-4 lead, but the Marlins rallied in the bottom half with Mets closer Billy Wagner unavailable because of back spasms.

Eventual winner Taylor Tankersley (6-1) retired the Mets in the 10th and Hanley Ramirez led off the bottom half with a single. That brought up Uggla, who ripped an offering from Jorge Sosa (9-8) off the left field scoreboard.

Miguel Cabrera contributed a three-run homer for the Marlins, who stopped a four-game losing streak.
