WISHAM, England, Sept. 21 (UPI) -- Robert Jan-Dirksen and Mark Foster share the lead after 36 holes of the European Tour’s British Masters Golf Tournament at Wisham, England.

Their two-round totals are 7-under-par 137 after Dirksen shot 4-under 68 and Foster came in with a 6-under 66.

The pair lead five players by one-shot, including first-round leader Martin Erlandsson (75).

Winds at the Belfry course at Sutton Coldfield were merciless on most players Friday.

"It's very difficult,” Foster admitted. "The greens are key. You’ve got to hit it in the right position on the greens and every putt is fast, two- or three-foot ... breaks, sort of like major greens."

"I am hanging in there which is good," Erlandsson said, "but it was very windy and tough out there."

Defending champion Johan Edfors shot 3-over 75, and is tied for 51st place at 2-over 146.

Among those missing the cut were Simon Dyson (149), Paul Broadhurst (152) and Darren Clarke (152).
