BEIJING, Sept. 20 (UPI) -- World No. 3 Jelena Jankovic didn't lose a game Thursday in advancing to the quarterfinals of the $600,000 China Open tennis tournament.

Jankovic, seeded second this week, blitzed Virginia Ruano Pascual, 6-0, 6-0, and moved to a Friday match against Akiko Morigami, who was a 7-5, 6-3 second-round winner over Aiko Nakamura.

Unseeded Lindsay Davenport, continuing her strong comeback after a nearly yearlong layoff from singles play, defeated eighth-seeded Eleni Daniilidou, 7-5, 6-3. Her quarterfinal opponent Friday is to be fourth-seeded Elena Dementieva, who had little trouble Thursday in a 6-2, 6-0 rout of Tamira Paszek.

Friday's other quarterfinals pit third-seeded Amelie Mauresmo against Shuai Peng and sixth-seeded Agnes Szavay versus Maria Emilia Salerni. Salerni was placed in the draw when top-seeded Svetlana Kuznetsova withdrew due to injury.

The China Open finals are set for Sunday when the winner will be awarded $88,265.
