PHOENIX, Sept. 19 (UPI) -- Micah Owings tossed a two-hit, complete-game shutout Tuesday, propelling the NL West-leading Arizona Diamondbacks to a 5-0 win over the San Francisco Giants.

Owings (7-8), had been struggling of late, going 1-2 in his previous five outings. But against the Giants he allowed just one walk in addition to the two hits, while striking out four.

Mark Reynolds homered for Arizona, which is just 1 1/2 games ahead of San Diego in the West standings. Chris Young finished with two hits and drove in a run in the rout.

Jonathan Sanchez (1-5) lasted just one inning, giving up four runs on five hits with two walks.

Dave Roberts and Pedro Feliz notched the only hits for San Francisco, which has dropped four of five.
