Holliday named NL Player of the Week

NEW YORK, Sept. 17 (UPI) -- Colorado Rockies outfielder Matt Holliday was named the NL Player of the Week Monday.

Holliday, 27, led the league with six home runs, 11 RBI, 11 runs, a 1.148 slugging percentage and 31 total bases during the past the week

The two-time All-Star batted .407 (11-27) with a pair of doubles and a .500 on-base percentage. Holliday had three multi-hit games.

Holliday entered play Monday leading the NL with 47 doubles and 122 RBI, ranking second in batting average at .334; and tied for fourth with 32 home runs. This was the second time this season Holliday won the weekly award.
