
CARSON, Calif., Sept. 16 (UPI) -- Dwayne De Rosario scored a goal and an assist Sunday night, to lead the Houston Dynamo to a 3-1 win over the Los Angeles Galaxy.
The win clinched a playoff berth for Houston, which leads the Major League Soccer Western Conference by one point over Chivas USA, who played to a 1-1 draw in Colorado Sunday.
De Rosario gave the Dynamo a 1-0 lead in the 21st minute on a header off a corner kick from Ryan Cochrane. Ricardo Clark and Cochrane also scored for Houston.
Alan Gordon scored the lone Los Angeles goal, as the Galaxy took an early 1-0 lead but could not stave off Houston’s resurgence late in the match.
The Galaxy out-shot Houston, 11-9. Both sides had four shots on goal. Galaxy superstar David Beckham did not play.
