CONOVER, N.C., Sept. 16 (UPI) -- R.W. Eaks shot a 2-under 70 Sunday, holding off a charge by Jay Haas, to win the Greater Hickory Classic at Rock Barn in North Carolina.

It was Eaks' second career Champions Tour title.

Eaks played nearly three rounds in just two days, after the first round was rained out Friday. He finished at 17-under 199 for a two-shot win over Haas. His first win came two months ago at the Dick's Sporting Goods Open.

Haas shot a 6-under 66 Sunday to move into a tie for second place with Rod Spittle (69) at 15-under 201. Haas had six birdies, including three over his last six holes.

Scott Simpson posted a 69 and finished alone in fourth place at 13-under 203. Des Smyth (67) and Gil Morgan (68) were two shots back at 205.
