MIAMI, Sept. 12 (UPI) -- Todd Linden's only hit of the game, an RBI single in the bottom of the 12th inning Wednesday afternoon, lifted the Florida Marlins over Washington, 5-4.

Three Florida runs scored on homers -- a two-run blast by Miguel Olivo in the third and a game-tying solo shot by Jeremy Hermida in the sixth.

Robert Andino and Miguel Cabrera had three hits each and Alfredo Amezaga had two, as the Marlins took two games in the three-game series.

The winner was Daniel Barone (1-2).

Washington scored one run on Byung-Hyun Kim’s fourth-inning wild pitch. Ryan Church and Wily Mo Pena both hit solo homers in the fifth, and starter Joel Hanrahan added an RBI single.

Pena and Brian Schneider had two hits apiece for the Nationals.

Kim had four walks and 10 strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings. Seven Florida pitchers had 17 strikeouts.

The losing pitcher was Saul Rivera (4-6).
