NFL: Green Bay 16, Philadelphia 13

GREEN BAY, Wis., Sept. 9 (UPI) -- Mason Crosby hit a 42-yard field goal with two seconds remaining Sunday, giving Green Bay a 16-13 decision over Philadelphia.

The Packers spoiled the return of Philadelphia quarterback Donovan McNabb by taking advantage of a critical special teams mistake.

With the game tied and seemingly headed for overtime, Green Bay was forced to punt. Philadelphia's J.R. Reed ran under a short kick only to have the ball bounce off him and into the arms of the Packers' Jarrett Bush.

That gave Green Bay the ball on the Philadelphia 31 with a minute to play, and after two runs by rookie Brandon Jackson, Crosby came on to kick the game-winner. Jackson gained 40 yards on 15 carries while Brett Favre completed 23 of 42 passes for 206 yards.

McNabb was playing in a regular-season game for the first time since suffering a torn knee ligament last November. He was 15 of 33 for 184 yards with a touchdown and an interception.

Brian Westbrook gained 85 rushing yards for the Eagles, who are 3-6 in season openers under Coach Andy Reid.

Philadelphia cornerback Lito Sheppard left in the second quarter with a knee injury and did not return. His replacement, Joselio Hanson, also was injured.
