
PITTSBURGH, Sept. 9 (UPI) -- Freddy Sanchez had two hits and four RBI Sunday afternoon, as the Pittsburgh Pirates clipped the Chicago Cubs, 10-5.
Sanchez's biggest hit was a three-run triple that capped a six-run second. Pittsburgh’s Nyjer Morgan and Jose Castillo had two RBI each.
Jack Wilson had two hits and scored three times. Two others had one RBI each, and three had two hits each, as the Pirates got their second win in the three-game series.
Winner Matt Morris (9-9) surrendered four earned runs and seven hits in six innings.
Chicago got a two-run homer from Alfonso Soriano and a solo shot from Geovany Soto. Jason Kendall had a hit and two RBI, while Matt Murton had a run and two hits for the Cubs, who fell one game behind Milwaukee in the race for the National League Central Division title.
The losing pitcher was starter Steve Trachsel (6-10).
