ROGERS, Ark., Sept. 9 (UPI) -- A week's worth of poor weather forced LPGA Tour officials to reduce the NW Arkansas Championship to just 18 holes Sunday, leaving Stacy Lewis in first place.
Lewis, however, will not be recognized as a winner on the LPGA circuit because the tournament did not last 36 holes.
Rains forced delays both Friday and Saturday and although the weather improved Sunday, tour officials decided to leave the tournament as an 18-hole event.
Lewis finished her round Saturday, firing a 7-under 65.
In a bizarre windup to the tournament, 32 players completed their rounds Sunday on a Pinnacle Country Club course that was not open to the public.
Kristy McPherson, Katherine Hull and Teresa Lu shot 66 while Juli Inkster, Sherri Turner and Jin Young Pak shot 67.
