
BATON ROUGE, La., Sept. 9 (UPI) -- Keiland Williams picked up 126 yards and scored twice on just seven carries Saturday, as second-ranked LSU trounced No. 9 Virginia Tech, 48-7.
Jacob Hester rushed 12 times for 81 yards and a touchdown, while Matt Flynn was 17-for-27 passing for 217 yards for the Tigers (2-0). Flynn also scored a touchdown on the ground.
Tyrod Taylor was 7-for-18 passing for just 62 yards, and gained 44 yards on nine carries for the Hokies (1-1). Taylor scored the only touchdown for Virginia Tech.
The Tigers scored on their first possession, when Hester capped a 97-yard drive with a three-yard touchdown run. LSU scored again on its second possession, with Flynn rushing seven yards for a TD.
Brandon LaFell picked up 125 yards on seven catches for LSU -- including a 56-yard gain in the first quarter.
