MLB: Boston 4, Baltimore 0

BALTIMORE, Sept. 7 (UPI) -- Jon Lester combined with two relievers on a four-hitter Friday night to give the Boston Red Sox a 4-0 victory over Baltimore.

Lester (4-0) went seven innings, retiring 11 in a row at one point and 12 of the last 13 he faced. He gave up the four Baltimore hits and won his third game in as many starts.

Javier Lopez worked the eighth and Manny Delcarmen the ninth. Lopez received help from Jacoby Ellsbury, who made a leaping catch at the wall on a drive by Melvin Mora.

Boston won for the sixth time in seven games, while Baltimore lost at home for the 11th straight outing -- equaling a franchise record established 20 years ago.

The setback was charged to Daniel Cabrera (9-15), who gave up three runs on six hits in 3 2/3 innings.
