ARLINGTON, Texas, Sept. 5 (UPI) -- Ian Kinsler, Jason Botts and Brad Wilkerson each drove in two runs Tuesday, as Texas outlasted Kansas City 9-8.
Kinsler collected three hits and scored twice, Botts finished with three hits and scored once, and Wilkerson homered. Jarrod Saltalamacchia homered and Marlon Byrd also knocked in a run for the Rangers, who have won three of four.
John Reinecker (2-1) earned the win with a scoreless seventh inning. Starter Kevin Millwood yielded six runs on eight hits and three walks, while striking out seven over five innings.
Royals reliever Leo Nunez (2-3) took the loss, giving up two runs in one-third of an inning in relief of Billy Buckner, who, in his major-league debut, was tagged for six runs in four innings.
Jason Smith hit a three-run homer and drove in four for the Royals, who have dropped three of five. Mike Sweeney had three hits, scored twice and drove in a run, Mark Teahen collected two hits and an RBI, and both Mark Grudzielanek and Esteban German knocked in a run.
