COL FB: Cal 45, Tennessee 31

BERKELEY, Calif., Sept. 2 (UPI) -- Nate Longshore threw for a two TDs and ran for another Saturday night, as No. 12 California beat 15th-ranked Tennessee, 45-31.

Longshore was 19-of-28 for 241 yards passing. Justin Forsett rushed for 156 yards and a touchdown for the Golden Bears, who opened their season by avenging a season-opening loss at Tennessee in 2006.

Worrell Williams returned a fumble 45 yards for a RD and DeSean Jackson electrified ran back a punt 77 yards for six points.

Erik Ainge -- playing with a broken pinkie finger on his throwing hand -- completed 32-of-47 passes for 271 yards and three touchdowns. Lucas Taylor gained 103 receiving yards.
