COL FB: Penn State 59, Florida Intnl. 0

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa., Sept. 1 (UPI) -- Anthony Morelli completed 23-of-38 passes for 295 yards and three TDs Saturday as 18th-ranked Penn State walloped Florida International, 59-0.

Penn State Coach Joe Paterno returned to the sideline for his 42nd season -- and for the first time since breaking his leg last November in a sideline collision at Wisconsin.

Evan Royster rushed eight times for 70 yards with a touchdown and Rodney Kinlaw added 67 yards on eight carries with a score for the Nittany Lions.

Jordan Norwood caught five passes for 92 yards and Austin Scott rushed 11 times for 47 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

FI quarterback Wayne Younger passed for 117 yards on 12-of-25 and was sacked four times. Golden Panthers running back Julian Reams gained just 15 yards on eight carries.
