PERTH, Scotland, Aug. 31 (UPI) -- Simon Wakefield and Thomas Levet share the lead after 36 holes of the European Tour’s Johnnie Walker Championship in Perthshire, Scotland.
Friday, Wakefield shot 4-under-par 68, while Levet carded a 3-under 69 at the historic Gleneagles golf course.
Levet needed a birdie at the 18th and final hole to join Wakefield at 9-under 137 overall.
"For the last two weeks, I'm starting to reach the level of 2004," Levet said. "I'm just waiting for my putting to show up. In 2004, my bad putting days were decent but at the moment my bad putting days are bad."
First-round leader Marc Warren (73) bogeyed the last to stand alone in third place at 8-under 138.
Phillip Archer (71) is fourth at 7-under 139.
Among those missing the even-par 146 cut line were Ross Fisher (147), and Gary Lockerbie (147).
Defending champion Paul Casey (142) is one of three players tied for 16th place.
