BALTIMORE, Aug. 30 (UPI) -- B.J. Upton hit a three-run homer in the third Thursday night and the Tampa Bay Devil rays rallied to defeat reeling Baltimore, 8-6.
The Orioles lost their ninth straight and completed a 1-9 home stand -- worst in franchise history. Their previous worst was a 2-8 home stand in 1987.
Tampa Bay also got home runs from Josh Wilson and Akinori Iwamura, who helped the Devil Rays to their seventh win in nine games.
Starter Scott Kazmir (11-8) got the win despite giving up five runs in five innings.
Jeremy Guthrie (7-5) was given an early 3-0 advantage, but wound up allowing eight hits and six runs in six innings to take the loss.
Upton's homer in the third gave Tampa Bay a 4-3 lead. The Devil Rays swept a team on the road for the first time in two seasons.
