
LOUISVILLE, Ky., Aug. 30 (UPI) -- Brian Brohm threw for 375 yards and four touchdowns Thursday night as 10th-ranked Louisville opened the season with a 73-10 crushing of Murray State.
Brohm left early in the second half after completing 16 of 21 passes. Louisville produced its largest point total in 81 years and won its 19th straight game.
Harry Douglas caught five passes for 151 yards and two touchdowns.
The game marked the debut of Louisville Coach Steve Kragthorpe, who took over the team when Bobby Petrino moved on to guide the Atlanta Falcons.
Anthony Allen added 56 yards and a touchdown on seven carries and George Stripling gained 91 yards on 14 rushes.
Louisville piled up 655 yards of offense and scored 49 points in the first half. The Cardinals scored on their first play with Brohm throwing a 44-yard pass to Douglas.
