SEATTLE, Aug. 29 (UPI) -- Los Angeles gave up five runs in the first Tuesday but rallied with a four-run eighth keyed by Vladimir Guerrero's two-run single for a 10-6 win over Seattle.
The victory extended the Angels' American League West lead to four games over the Mariners.
Kendry Morales and Maicer Izturis also drove in runs in the decisive eighth. Gary Matthews Jr. and Morales hit back-to-back homers in the fourth.
Guerrero had four hits, while Morales and Orlando Cabrera notched three apiece.
Dustin Moseley shut down the Mariners with 5 1/3 innings of scoreless, two-hit relief. Justin Speier (2-3) got credit for the win while allowing a run on two hits in 1 1/3 innings. Starter Ervin Santana was roughed up for four hits and five runs in just one-third of an inning.
Brandon Morrow (3-3) was tagged with the loss, giving up four runs in one inning of relief. Starter Jeff Weaver struggled with an early lead, and was charged with five runs -- four earned -- on eight hits in 4 1/3 innings.
Kenji Johjima was 3-for-4 with an RBI for the Mariners, who have dropped four straight and now lead the AL Wild Card race by one game over the Yankees, who bested Boston earlier Tuesday. Jose Guillen and Adrian Beltre both knocked in two runs, and Ichiro Suzuki had two hits and a run driven in .
