Ortiz hit .478 (11-23) with three home runs, two doubles, a triple and eight RBI in six games. The designated-hitter, who won his fourth career award, had a slugging percentage of 1.043 with 11 runs scored and 24 total bases.

This was just the second time a pair of Red Sox players shared American League weekly honors. Pedro Martinez and Trot Nixon accomplished the feat in July 2002.
