Tyree was injured in Saturday's 20-12 exhibition loss to the Jets, but X-rays weren't taken until the following morning. He was to undergo surgery Monday night.

Coach Tom Coughlin also announced Monday that wide receiver Plaxico Burress had his back examined at the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan, while running back Robert Douglas will need arthroscopic surgery after suffering a knee injury against the Jets.
